Handwoven Rug from the Nomadic Qashqai Tribe in SW Iran – Circa 2000+

Gabbeh Rugs Were What the Qashqai Tribe Used to Weave for Themselves, While Their Elaborate Rugs Were Taken to the City to Sell. However, They Became Popular and Well Complemented Contemporary Designs

They Tended to Have Simple Designs Sometimes with a Few Motifs and a Coarser Weave

This One has a Mostly Open Field with a Few Motifs Scattered in the Field, but More Detailed in the Borders.

Nice Persian Blue Field with Cream, Reds, Taupe Accents

Excellent Condition – Nice Tight Weave. Good Colors, Pile, and Edges
